Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: Baba O'Reily (Roger D with the Dead, live)

the video I have is 3-28-81 Essen,Germany, As Jerry moves in to Wharf Rat, , Pete gets the bright idea that he wants a go at it, Jerry gives a suprised look and moves over a little bit, there off, you can catch some looks in Pete's eye that he loving the story that Jerry is telling. Garcia makes every break available to Townshend to jump in, but he never takes full advantage. Pete's game is not well suited to that type of complexity, whitch can be said about the Dead's attempt at Who songs, I mean what deahead wants to see Garcia out there windmilling LMAO at the thought, but I digress.
My recollection of the essen footage is sketchy I guess it's time to watch it again, As the wharf Rat moves to NFA Townshend starts to move higher in the mix being more familar with the material, and imo grooves the Dead into some Maximum R&B. I think there is a clip of the Wharf Rat on youtube. If you do any torrenting and burning , all three sets Who & dead are out there on the varios trader and torrent sites.
